HOW TO JOIN OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP

If you live in the Northwest region of Westchester County (Briarcliff Manor, Buchanan, Croton on Hudson, Cortlandt, Jefferson Valley, Mohegan Lake, Montrose, Ossining, Peekskill, Shrub Oak, Somers, Verplank, and Yorktown) we would be delighted if you would join us! However, you may join any local league in Westchester County regardless of your address.

As a member, you will:

  • have the opportunity to participate in local, state, and national League work

  • get exclusive civic information you can trust

  • know that your membership dues add to our grassroots strength and our financial resources

  • help empower voters and defend democracy!

All are welcome - regardless of gender or political affiliation. League members have the opportunity to stay informed about important issues and support the work we do in studying the issues and informing others.  We value each member, whether or not you are able to become involved.

The League is fully committed to ensure compliance - in principle and in practice - with LWVUS' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy. 

Membership is open to everyone 16 years of age or older.

 NEW MEMBERSHIP DUES STRUCTURE

February 2025

• All members will now join and renew membership through one national platform, ChapterSpot, collected online by the National League (LWVUS.)

• There will no longer be membership categories (i.e. student, household, premium or regular.) Two categories are offered: Individual and Lifetime Member.

• Dues will now be “pay-what-you-can” which will hopefully broaden League membership by making it more affordable for a wider range of people.

How “Pay-What-You-Can” Works

• Members are encouraged to pay a suggested rate of $75. The minimum dues amount is $20. You may pay what you can. However, please know that 20% of dues collected will be paid back to our League to help fund our educational programs and advocacies.

• There will no longer be “household members”; each member that was previously part of a household membership, will now join as a single member.

• Make sure your email is up-to-date since ChapterSpot platform uses your email address as your account name.

• From Household to Individual: If you currently have a household membership, each individual will have to set up an account with their own email.

Rolling Dues: After you join or renew your membership, your annual renewal date will be a year from that date. You will be notified about 30 days prior by LWVUS.
